Analysis of Trends in Korea Research on Father

Abstract
This study was conducted to analyze the patterns typical for 118 research papers on fathers which were published in Korean journals. The results of analysis are as follows: First, the research on fathers has gradually increased since 2003. Second, the major journals focusing on the topics of fathers were ¡°Journal of the Korean Home Economics Association¡± and ¡°Journal of the Korean Association of Child Studies¡±. Third, Seoul is the most frequently investigated city as far as the regional characteristics are concerned. Fourth, the majority of the researches on fathers were conducted from the father¡¯s
perspectives rather than from those of children. Fifth, the size of research object was mostly more than 100. Sixth, the studying subjects were classified into two categories, one related with objects and the other related with variables. Seventh, questionnaires were the mainly used method for gathering data. Eighth, the measurement tools used in the previous research were highly re-used for the studies. Ninth, 2 to 3 tools were heavily utilized for the studies of fathers. Finally, the correlation analysis was the most frequently used method for the analysis of data.
